“With Buckets of Love”
Was born from my mother’s signature sign-off on every card, note and email. It was her way of sending care into the world, and from the lifelong inspiration I’ve found in nature and the sea.
My Mom taught me the joy of being connected to nature, and instilled a deep love of and respect for the ocean. I have such wonderful memories of summers at the beach in Minot Massachusetts as a child, experiencing the pure joy of exploring the shore line, tidal pools, collecting starfish, shells, and rocks, and then as I grew older, sea glass.
The first piece of sea glass I found, that started my collection was a large cobalt blue piece I found along the Derrynane Strand (beach) in Caherdaniel in County Kerry Ireland. Its one of my favorite spots in the world, and I travel to Ireland often.
I now have sea glass from all over the world, Ireland, England, Greece, Italy and of course Massachusetts!
My original watercolor art celebrates the natural world, I love watercolor for how closely it resembles nature: flowing, spontaneous, translucent, and full of quiet beauty. A number of my framed pieces often feature sea glass that I’ve collected from shorelines around the globe, each fragment a tiny story shaped by the ocean’s rhythm. Some pieces take on a whimsical spirit, evoking a cheerful childhood memory.
Nature reminds us to slow down, breathe, and stay connected to the world around us. If my art finds its way into your home, may it offer you a moment of nature’s serenity, of peace, and a calm connection each time you see it.
The rhythm of the ocean taught me to notice beauty, and to protect what I love. After joining a beach cleanup and witnessing firsthand the impact of plastic pollution, I felt called to give back to the waters that have given me so much. That’s why 10% of my net profits are donated to support theoceancleanup.com. When you bring a piece of my art into your home, you’re not only supporting a small creative business, but you’re also helping make a difference.
Thank you, truly, and with buckets of love.
